Cowboys coach Wade Phillips to return

Irving, TX  – Bookmaker has taken down the odds of Cowboy Coach Wade Philips being fired as it is now being reported by the Fort Worth Star Telegram that he will be coming back to coach the team in the 2010 season.

The newspaper is reporting that owner Jerry Jones will make an announcement later in the week to say that Phillips will be on the sidelines next season, but it is not known if Jones will pick up his option for next season or give him an extension.

This past season, the Cowboys captured the NFC East crown on the last day of the campaign with a win over the Eagles, then beat Philadelphia again a week later for the teams first playoff victory since 1996.

However, Dallas was crushed by Minnesota this past Sunday, 34-3, in the divisional playoff game.

In his three seasons guiding Dallas, Phillips has posted a record of 33-15 and has made the playoffs in two of those three seasons.
